Red in the Interlude 2012
“Red in the Interlude” connects my involvement with drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation. Drawing without boundaries directly on the wall with fabric, paper and other curiously familiar objects, seemed like very natural. For the installation, I gathered old sculpture from my studio combining it with objects donated by friends. Working quickly and spontaneously I drew on my studio walls tacking and tucking red lines and objects which allowed me the freedom to just see what developed.
Some friends gave me personal objects that were very dear to them and they would explain the history of each item. So when creating a piece from their objects, I felt connected to them and their stories as I combined the objects on the wall in a composition.
